Joe.. What an AMAZING draft recap... well done...if Billy Beane had a fantasy league and based it on numbers this would be it and you would be him. Great job! Looking forward to the year ahead! Where is the recap? I can't find evidence of this anywhere.

Where is the recap? I can't find evidence of this anywhere. You should have it in your email. If you didn't receive it, shoot me an email and I'll forward it to you.

biggest reach in draft? weiters in the 4th or heyward in the 6th? i dont think eiher was too much of a reach in a keeper league. wieters can be a keeper for the next 15 years that puts up huge numbers. it may hurt this season, but watch out over the next few years. Same for heyward

Interesting draft recap...I think overall, numbers are just that, numbers. Put your players out on the field and see who rises to the top. Great job Joe. Good luck guys.

biggest reach in draft? weiters in the 4th or heyward in the 6th? Remember...you are talking about a 20-team draft here. Wieters ADP right now is around 120, I think. That puts him into the 12th round of a 10-team draft...and the 6th round of a 20-teamer. Given the scarcity of top tier catchers, and this being a keeper league, his value shoots even higher. Had I known he would be taken at that point, I would have taken him with my pick prior to that. Turns out I sat on him a bit too long. Live and learn. I don't think that was a reach at all. Heyward maybe, but not for Wieters... I was thinking that weiters was a reach but at the time my targetted players we coming off up to 20+ players earlier than i predicted. players like pedroia, pablo, votto, bj, zimm, plus many others in that range (+/-) were all flying off much earlier than i thought. the shift was then on... start reaching for "my guys" and let the "old codgers" (other managers would say; proven players) be picked up by others. i have to admit that my jaw dropped when heyward went in the 6th but like some are saying - keeper drafts are different. all-in-all: alot of fun for my first ever full roster, pre-draft traded, 20 team keeper draft. i have alot of youngsters that better produce.

I hear ya, bro. I really didn't want to take A-Rod at #6. Was hoping Kemp would be there at that point. Damn Comets! Couldn't NOT take A-Rod there though. I figured I raised some eyebrows when I took Votto at #20. I really see him having a big year though, and like him better than anyone else available at that point. In a 20-teamer, you will see guys come off the board earlier than usual. Guys will reach knowing that player is not likely to be there 20, 40, 60, ... some picks later when their next turn is up. Time will tell... yes votto @ 20 really threw a wrench as i had him as one of my options @ 37. as it played out all my choices i slated for 37 were gone. it was fun though and yes - time will tell.

Enough of this chatter...blah,blah,blah. Get your teams on the field and see what happens. Everyone is worried about "keeps" for next year and who has the better players. Well I am playing for this year. Let's get it on!!!

Well I am playing for this year. Let's get it on!!! So... ... because a bitter hitman doesn't want to read anymore keeper chatter we abandon the board postings? Not likely... I doubt any teams truly worried about but tried to land as many keeper type players they could for years to come. speaking for myself; really adds to the fun. so what would we like to chatter aboout then? maybe your synopsis of how to solidify the 3B position with a kouz/gordon combo or the mighty cuddyer/raburn combo at 1B? Ah just yanking ya hit. as a fellow MAN div mate: can't deny you have a decent team and like your pitching core. too bad you'll place behind the mighty mick. although tough to do: feel free to rag on my team - i'd love to hear it. gl all - season's right around the corner!

Mickey, I enjoy posts, I just can't wait to see the season begin. I think the "MAN" division is going to be a real battle between all of us. We'll have to see what happens. On paper, your team is good. I admit 3B may be an issue for me, but outside of Lind, your OF and U are weak. Should be fun!!!!

Agreed. this will be a great season. on paper - per joe's draft eval - i should have one of the worst teams but, as exclaimed, never seen a draft summary so close... For S & G's... early MAN div final ranks mick tim hit milk yard i'm always talking out my a$$ but wanted to throw out an early prediction on record to compare to when all said and done. Of course - all around best division anyway so at worse our last place would be 5th overall... ;D
