That being said, we are supposed to go to five keepers next season I believe. I don't really see that point in that if only a few teams keep 4 this year.
I am not in this league, but this whole ordeal with being able to pick and choose keepers isn't going to bode well very soon because this season what will happen is you will see a team that is out of the playoff hunt, make a lopsided deal for a keeper to a team that will go on and win the league. The managers with the worst teams will make trades to better his team for next season and thus totally change the outcome of this season and it happen this way every season. IMO, there are three ways to do it, either by penality for not keeping four players or force four players or even say only new managers to the league can be allowed to skim the FA pool on keepers before the draft. One more thing, the trades will be lopsided, based on play, but not based on the fact that one player will be a keeper thus value wise it will be even enough. Such as this...Say Pujols sits the last month of the season for a minor injury, my team is pushing for the playoffs, So I trade Pujols to a lame team and get 2-3 of his best players, say v-mart-delmon young and matt cain. League wish, this kills the league because pujols is out and thus his value is diminished, but from both managers standpoint, one guy is out, so who cares, the other guys gets pujols for a keeper, PLUS since he traded away all his good team, he can elect to only keeper Pujols and take away from teams that have 5-6 decent keepers, but only can keep 4....oh yea, 5 keepers? WAYYYYYYYYY to much, kills the draft I think...3-4 to more then enough.
